Namaste.

I don’t have much to speak about today (so far), but I did want to share Andrew Bowen’s post in Project Conversion today.  It is about our contact a few days ago, and how it has impacted both of our lives.

Here it is: How Project Conversion Email Reaffirms My Purpose in Life

  1. Saw your letter mentioned on Project Conversion and came here. I have a similar background and story. And it was that same verse ““Truth is one, though the wise call it by many names,” that moved me towards Hinduism, starting with the reading of “The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna.” However, at that time (12 years ago) there was no Ramakrishna-based community in Pittsburgh, so I wandered a bit more. But last year, I found a group of like believers and have been loving it ever since.

You can see more of my thoughts and (slightly outdated) spiritual bio at my blog, Eat the Mangoes. The title is a reference by some wisdom from Sri Ramakrishna who said the following:

“Is it possible to understand God’s action and His motive? He creates, He preserves, and He destroys. Can we ever understand why He destroys?…The aim of human life is to attain bhakti… I have come to the garden to eat mangoes. What is the use of my calculating the number of trees, branches, and leaves? I only eat the mangoes; I don’t need to know the number of trees and leaves.”

You also may appreciate this collection of scriptures from various religions and how similar they are.
