Okay, so I know it’s pretty hit or miss how many or few of you are actually Hindu.
But, in case anyone who reads this does tread this path, I need help.
I’ve lost my way.
I’m still a vegetarian, and more and more a pacifist, but that’s it.
I’m not meditating or reading, or anything else. I know that basically the entire point is that I make my own path, but I could really use a map or a street sign.
I’ve wandered off into the hardships of a full time job and everyday stress, and lost my spiritual way.
Any advice?
Maybe you can just restart and start slowly? Maybe meditate and/or read for a few minutes or so before bed…and work your way from there?
I was having trouble finding a good place to start the last time I tried, so I dunno.
I find it interesting that many in the West are finding their way to Hinduism and the commitment is commendable. Being born a Hindu and practicing it in a conducive environment, I find that I am not too aware of the issues that are important to someone exploring to find their foothold in the practice.
It’s far more welcoming than most of the religious paths typical to the West. My issue, I suppose, isn’t keeping my foothold so much as making the first few steps. I grew up in Christianity, which has a very structured way of worshiping, so I feel like there is some instruction sheet I’m missing; if that makes sense.
I understand your search but unfortunately there is no proper instruction sheet. The reason is primarily because Hinduism is not a religion in the traditional sense.
It is defined as a way of life and is fairly individualistic and each practice methodology is right in its own manner.
I’m aware of that. I guess I’m emotionally set on my path, but I feel like I need to devote more to it in my way of life, and I don’t know how.
